The Special Day of Valentines

It is that time of the year again. Not the day when we celebrate Jesus' birth, not the day that we commemorate those who fought for our country, not the day that we give thanks for family and friends, not even the day where we all pretend we're Irish (I don't have to pretend), wear green, pinch the shit out'a people and drink a whole lot of alcohol. I'm talking about another holiday. A holiday where dreams are made true and inspiration is at its peak: A glorious day where teenage couples who have known each other for 2 weeks go and spend their parents money on something that will eventually be given back to the giver after a brutal breakup. This is the all-to-real scene of Valentine's Day.

Now let's analyze the origins of this stand-out holiday. The name "Valentine's Day" originates from "Saint Valentine's Day." Established by Pope Gelasius I in AD 496, the day is supposed to be set apart for intimate couples to express love towards one another. Another thing, who was Saint Valentine? Answer: Saint Valentine was a Christian Martyr. Hey! My name is Saint Valentine and i was martyred for the Christian faith, and my last wish is to have couples act like they like each other for one day out of the year and for Wal Mart to show their cheesiest commercials.

Valentine's Day is a day where you hear, "every kiss begins with K" in every other commercial, or watching some giddy chick talking about how he went to Jared. If you're single, you probably aren't much of a fan of Valentine's Day. If you are part of a couple, you probably... aren't much of a fan of Valentine's Day either. I think that the only people who like Valentine's Day are the people who enjoy watching people choke on the gamble chocolate. I don't know why it is, but I always get the one filled with what tastes like sensodyne, ugh.

With all due respect to the day, it's still good for something.. and that is keeping Hallmark from going out of business..

McDonalds : A Sanctuary of Heavenly foods

You know, there are a lot of fast food places out there. Anywhere you go, there is sign after sign of cheesy logos trying to promote a mediocre fast food along the highway. One fast food place in particular is different from the others. There is no cheesy, over-spiced up logo, or ridiculous names for specials and foods, just the Golden Arches and the dollar menu.

Now there is just something about those Golden Arches that when i see them, something in me just starts turning. Basically like a light being turned on in the midst of darkness. Just the taste of a small bite of a McDouble is enough to make my taste buds want to evolve into something greater.

My point is this: I think that there is something supernatural involved with this unique franchise. I mean, billions have been served. You can get McDonalds anywhere in the world. I've heard that they even have a mind-based McDonalds coming out in 2014 where you can place your order in your mind and it is delivered to you on the spot. But this is my conjecture: I think that somewhere beyond the grills and workers, there is actually the hand of God working in the back of McDonalds. It's gotta be... There's no other way in the world that something so fantastic could come from mere mortals.

Either way, you could get a $5 foot-long sub from Subway, which is very tasty... or you could pay $6 for a angus burger from Burger King... But maybe, just maybe.. you could work up the inspiration to grace your body with food that was sculpted by the Great Architect of the Universe and drink it all down with sweet tea that is rumored to be the nector of the Angels. I know which route I'll take.

The Spice of Life

The Spice of life! I've heard of it. You've heard of it. It's one of those cliches that we hear of all the time. From time to time you'll hear that it's laughter, or family, friends, etc. William Cowper says that it's variety that gives us this spice in our lives.

What does spices do to food? First off, it gives it flavor. Ever added garlic to a food item? It gives it a distinctly different taste. Another thing that spices do is preserve. These spices encase an item of food and preserve it to where it can be eaten a long time in advance, whereas if you left it alone, it would spoil.

This sounds a lot like life. A life is never worth living without a little bit of spice in it. This means that you need this "spice" to help keep you going, to make it more tasteful than it would be plain. Also, it is needed to keep that life in tact. All too many times we find ourselves in a rut where we seem like have lost this spice of life.

I love what Cowper says in his quote. "VARIETY" is the spice of life. In many ways, he's right. In the same way that you can say that variety is the spice of life, you could say that routine is the spoiler of life. Never find yourself in the same routine, or the same states of mind.

Granted, this takes a ton of work because we get so used to routine and it's so easy to get bogged down. But the truth is that nothing is more satisfying than diversifying your thoughts and such. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying to change your life and switch up everything. Where I'm getting at is simple. Broaden your horizons. Read a book, or a different type of book. Find a new tv series to get into. Try out a new genre of music, or even just a new band or musician. Maybe even go outside of your comfort zone to talk to a different kind of person than you're used to associating with.


Above all, and believe it or not, you alone are responsible for your happiness, so add this all too rare spice of life. It may not eliminate life's daily struggles, but it will add taste, and preserve for a long time!

Coming to Crossroads

as a kid, there aren't many "crossroads" that you come to. That's one of the best things about being a kid. We were carefree for the most part, and also didn't really care that much about what others thought of us. We did what we wanted, and basically said screw what others think. I'm a kid and it doesn't matter.


But things change. You get older, and things start happening. We come to "crossroads". This usually is something big happening in your life, for the good or for the bad. Something like a relationship ending, or getting into college, or not getting into college, etc. I have came to many crossroads within the last few years and I've responded well to some, and no so great to others. The main thing that I'm getting at is to think of these crossroads as something that has to happen. No one can go into the past and change things. The crossroad isn't what defines a person. The way him or her reacts to it means the world.


I've learned a few things about how to deal with a few different situations. For instance, when it comes to a girl.. if you really like her, do all you can to help that relationship move along. Let her know exactly how you feel, and if she shuns it, walk away. There is NEVER any use in worrying over someone who doesn't want to be with you. EVER.

Another thing is always forgive. No matter how much wrong someone has done to you, you have to forgive. It's easy to think that the best way to deal with someone who has done you wrong is to stay pissed at them. But guess what? You hold in anger, and it hurts you, but guess what they're doing? Not a thing. They sleep well at night, so you're only hurting yourself by not forgiving.

Above all, wisdom is the spice of life. Guard your heart and your mind. Wisdom is the only thing that makes this possible. Learn about the world around you and the life that you live will be so much better.

Be yourself, make others happy without compromising your own happiness and make sure no one ever tries to get in the way of this.

If you find yourself at the lowest of lows: Lose your job, your girl, money, a friend, a loved one, etc. The only thing left to do is get back on your feet and don't give up. Just like Jimmy Valvano said before he died. Don't give up. Don't EVER give up.

Deception of World Peace

"WORLD PEACE". It sounds so great! We hear it every year when the Miss America Pageant comes on. Every contestant wants nothing more than this idea of world peace. Well what exactly is world peace? If someone asked me for a definition of world peace, i think i would say something like a world without war, crime, and immoral behavior on a large scale (divorce, fraud, etc.) This sounds awesome, and while all of us "normal" people would love to see this, there are a few reasons why you would never see this happen, and I'm not talking about why it would never happen in terms of why it would be so difficult to achieve it. I'm talking about why the world's elite dreads the thought of it.


First off: Some background information. In 1913, The Federal Reserve Bank came into existance. Why is this important? Well at this point, due to a hoax, Americans thought their money was no longer safely in the hands of money backed by our nation's worth, our money now all started to flow through this private bank called the Federal Reserve. Now all of the money comes to and fro from this bank, so whatever we, as a nation, borrow from the bank, it has to be paid back (with interest :D). Well why is this important? The more money we borrow, the richer "those banks" get (The Federal Reserve is comprised of International banks). So really there is nothing federal at all about it. Many people don't even know, but the FR isn't even part of our government, and has never been audited.

Back to the point. When do we use the most money? Answer: WAR. The more troops we send out, the more we spend, the more we spend, the richer they get. I think right now we're spending up in the billions per week on war, which puts us in a 5 Trillion dollar hole. Think this is because we're really seeking the benefit of other countries? No. Ever heard of the saying, the borrower is slave to the lender? Well when we owe money to the FR, they can tell us what to do. and what do they say? invade, invade, invade.. sounds like our country since the early 2000's huh?



well outside of this, lets think of what the world we be like with no conflict:
No CIA, FBI, Department of homeland security, police force, military, lawyers (For the most part), news agencies would obviously go down the drain, security systems, surviellence technology, guns (For the most part), and on and on and on.. know what they means? thousands, if not millions with no jobs.


World peace? HA .. in our dreams.
You know this isn't supposed to be so pessimistic even though it seems that way.. hopefully if you read this, you can be a little more realistic. Quit dreaming of a utopia where your government is going to do you favors, it'll be the opposite. Take it upon yourself to make you and the people around you enjoy the world a little more for enjoyable, because it is. The world isn't perfect and never will be close to it. A man is happy when he decides to be, and that's a lesson we can all take to heart.

Some Words of Wisdom from Mark Twain

Since Christmas, I've been playing Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 a lot of PS3. When you die, quotes pop up on the screen from various wise thinkers from the present and past, from Albert Einstein to Dick Cheney (yeah i guess they recognized an idiot or two as well), but that's besides the point, cough cough Donald Rumsfeld. Anyway, one of the best quotes that they have on there, and one of my favorite quotes is from Mark Twain:

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when she deserves it."

I love that. It's perfect. Too many people lose faith in their country when things go bad, and that's understandable, but the country and the government are wayyyyyy different. The country is the PEOPLE, and the government is .. the "elite" who only seek to please the banks (sorry but it's true). I've heard people say that if you don't support the government, then you're ignorant, or anti-American, but that's not true. How about this, our government now is trying to label someone who doesn't agree with the government as a terrorist! I'm not kidding.. it's sad.

Anyways with that being said, I love America and what she stands for. As for the government, not an ounce of trust :) but hey, sometimes thats what it takes to be a patriot.

Girls and their Drama!

I don't know why I'm posting this on Christmas Eve, but nevertheless, I am. Being involved with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and all that good stuff, I see certain things that people post that are dead giveaways to their personalities. It's funny because the biggest one has to do with drama. This usually goes on in the world of MySpace because Facebook users are a tad more mature. It seems like the only people left are 15 year old Jonas brothers fans. But there are some twenty somethings mixed in there. What is funny to me though is how they talk about this word called "drama". Read one of these girls' "about me" section and you'll see what I'm talking about. For example, I see quotes like this all the time, "I'm done with drama so don't come around me startin' shit because I'll knock a bitch out"." or, "I ain't tryin' to do that drama shit anymore, yall bitches just jealous cuz you ain't me." stuff like that..

This is hilarious to me, seeing that I know some of these people personally. The more these girls talk about how done they are with drama, usually the more drama there is that actually surrounds them. And is usually is their on fault. So that's my thoughts. If you disagree, I'm sorry. The truth hurts.
